About First Christian Praise Chapel

First Christian Praise Chapel is a church that meets in Rupert, ID. Our beliefs are based on the Bible and centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ. Our goal is very simple: "Building Christ's church, one person at a time." That means we’re not about a building or some complicated religious system, but about "helping people meet, follow, and live for Jesus Christ who will encourage others to do the same." That is our strategy, both in terms of growing our church numerically and growing our church's people to maturity in Jesus Christ.

We invite you to come to our weekend service to see how all of this plays out in real life. We know that attending a church's worship service can be intimidating: Will I know where to go when I get there? Will I have to stand up and introduce myself? Will they do anything 'weird' with me or to me? Because you may have those concerns, we try to do things in a way that will not make you feel awkward in any way, and we also try to communicate clearly so you'll know what is going on during the worship service.

Our service is about 80 minutes long and includes teaching from God's word, singing, and other elements that help us focus on God and that also encourage one another as we grow in our relationship with God.

Children & Youth

At FCPC we minister to children of all ages. Loving nursery care is available for infants and toddlers. We offer a Children's Sunday School class with fun crafts and Bible adventures, and a Youth Sunday School class with relevant topics and Bible lessons at 9:15 a.m. Children's Church is available for children pre-K through 6th grade during the 10:30 a.m. Worship Service (after the music and announcements). If you would prefer to have your children stay with you in the main worship service, they are very welcome to do that as well. Youth are encouraged to attend our worship service, and get plugged in through our Sunday School class and youth events.

Leadership

FCPC is not affiliated with any particular denomination of affiliation of churches. We are an elder-led church and currently have four elders including the main teaching pastor. The elders are always open to your questions, comments, or concerns. If you would like to meet with one of them, or all of them, the best way to do that is to call the church office and set up an appointment so they can be sure to be available. It is fine to drop in too, but they may not always be available at that time. Our secretary, Mary Reeves, works Monday and Thursday from 9am- 3pm, so that is typically the best time to call.
